The 16-year-old Vietnamese female singer was eliminated from the show in Korea

Vu Linh Dan, a Vietnamese trainee, stopped in the first elimination round of the survival show Universe Ticket, SBS, Korea made many viewers regret. In episode 4, 39 contestants were eliminated, including Linh Dan.

Although not a prominent contestant on the show, Linh Dan still received good reviews from international audiences. Many people commented that the contestant from Vietnam has a good voice and slim figure, but is limited in stage performance skills.

Born in 2007, Linh Dan is currently studying at Marie Curie High School, Hanoi. Before that, she was known for her ability to sing in English quite well on the show The voice kid (2019), coach team Pham Quynh Anh and Duong Khac Linh.

Universe Ticket considered a less professional, unwavering program. Based on the votes of international fans, they can decide who will go next. Therefore, there appeared many faces who were weak at singing and dancing but still made it to the next round because of the high number of votes, even above many other talented contestants.

Indonesian contestant Vanesya attracted attention because of her poor skills but still ranked first thanks to her outstanding votes. In episodes of Universe Ticket, Vu Linh Dan also did not have much screen time.

The program will select eight faces out of 82 contestants, regardless of country. The producer wants to target the Southeast Asian market, which attracts a large number of views for Kpop content.

The program’s director confirmed that the number of votes is not related to skill assessment. ”On broadcast shows, contestants can only show off what they are good at, but it is difficult for viewers to know what they are like during actual practice. We want to focus on that,” the executive director said.

In addition, he said he would respect issues such as screen time and drama creation. However, the issue of voting and the contestants’ uneven and unreasonable screen time goes against the director’s words.

The survival show looking for Kpop idols increasingly attracts many factors from multinational countries. Before Linh Dan, many trainees from Vietnam enrolled in Korean programs but most did not achieve good results.
