We love each other, let’s be at peace – Episode 37: Mrs. Giang cheated on her husband and children to earn money to pay interest

Ms. Giang and Ms. Thu could not contact Dong – the “land broker” whom they trusted and poured all their money, including borrowed money, to ask Dong to invest in land. Feeling impatient because they were borrowing money on a daily basis, the two sisters went to Dong’s boarding house when the landlord informed them that Dong had disappeared for several weeks and had not paid the rent.

Ms. Giang immediately called the creditor to ask for one day’s interest, but he did not agree: “If the interest is late, add the interest to the principal and then calculate the interest on that amount.” Ms. Giang knew she was in a “sharp knife-edge” position, but there was nothing else she could do.

Ms. Giang started thinking about getting money from relatives. The first is Duc Anh (Thanh Son). Previously, Duc Anh offered to give his mother 5 million each month but Mrs. Giang refused. Now she called and asked her son to transfer that money to her. Not only that, she wants to get 60 million for the whole year, instead of 5 million per month.

Duc Anh believes that his mother has spare money so she should save it, instead of investing in real estate, to avoid risks. Mrs. Giang promised her son that she would only invest this time. After that, Duc Anh transferred 60 million to his mother as her mother requested.

Not enough to hold on, Mrs. Giang also lied to her husband that she needed to advance 2 months’ salary to Thoa’s maid, because Thoa’s husband had an accident. Hearing that, Mr. Thanh – Ms. Giang’s husband – immediately transferred 16 million to his wife. Having received 2 sums of money from her son and husband, Mrs. Giang called Mrs. Thu to transfer a part to Mrs. Thu, and together they held off paying interest in the hope of finding Dong.

By chance, Thoa met Mr. Thanh at the gate, and he asked questions and encouraged her to try harder about her husband’s accident. Immediately, Thoa went into the house and asked Mrs. Giang why she used her husband’s health to lie like that.

With no other choice, Ms. Giang had to tell Thoa the truth about her debt of 500 million, interest of 2.5 million/day, along with 300 million in her daughter’s savings book. She poured it all into investing in land, but now the “land broker” has disappeared, not knowing if she can get it back or not.

Mrs. Giang asked Thoa not to tell this story to her husband, because she was afraid that if her husband knew about it, he would leave her.
