Married 10 years before giving birth

Doctor Pham Phuc Ngan (33 years old, Can Tho) works in the field of cosmetology and beauty care. Besides her flourishing career, she still maintains her responsibilities as a mother, taking care of her two young children.

In the program Confidences about nursing mothers Episode 229, Ms. Ngan shared about her journey as a mother and her gratitude for her mother-in-law.

Ms. Ngan said that she and her husband got married early but were in no hurry to have children. She spends a lot of time studying and working. When she wanted to have a child, she ran into problems. For two years, she still couldn’t conceive.

10 years after the wedding, Ngan and her husband had the happiness of becoming parents. Because she had been waiting for so long, Ms. Ngan was both happy and worried.

She is afraid that her job, which requires her to stay up late, wake up early, and be exposed to laser rays, will affect her fetus.

Luckily, she received attention and care from her husband and mother-in-law. Her husband rarely speaks, is rarely sweet, but takes very good care of his wife.

“My husband searched for information, asking this person and that person what food was good for his wife and children. During my two pregnancies, I gained weight, while my husband lost ten pounds. Even when I have morning sickness, my husband also has morning sickness for me,” Ms. Ngan shared.

Even though she doesn’t have morning sickness, Ms. Ngan likes unique foods. When she was first pregnant, she liked to eat mangosteen.

Every day, she eats mangosteen instead of rice, making her mother-in-law worried. She gently advised her daughter-in-law to eat less, but she got angry and cried like a child.

The second time she was pregnant, Ms. Ngan liked to eat yams, which must be large tubers. Her mother-in-law had to mobilize her staff and relatives to search everywhere to find what she could buy.

“Since I became a daughter-in-law, my mother-in-law has loved me very much. I no longer have a biological mother, so I give all my love to my mother-in-law.

When I was pregnant, my mother-in-law temporarily put aside all her work to personally cook and take care of her daughter-in-law more than her biological daughter,” Ms. Ngan confided.

Mother-in-law is generous with daughter-in-law

Ms. Ngan’s journey through labor and giving birth to her first daughter was very interesting and full of memories. About 3 weeks before her due date, she went to the hospital to take care of her sister giving birth. Here, the doctor said that Ms. Ngan looked like she was about to give birth, so she should go through the procedures to be examined.

Unexpectedly, through examination, the doctor discovered that she had signs of labor. However, she had to go through more than 12 hours of pain to successfully give birth.

Thanks to her family and husband’s companionship, Ms. Ngan did not have too many difficulties and hardships in the early days of taking care of her children.

However, when her daughter was 5 months old, she agreed to leave her child to take care of her mother-in-law who was hospitalized in Ho Chi Minh City. Ms. Ngan said: “My children are at home with their father taking care of them, and my mother-in-law only has me. During my mother’s need, I cannot be selfish.”

In the second birth, everything went more smoothly but there were also many unforgettable memories. On the due date, Ms. Ngan had to examine the client before going to the hospital to give birth. Because it was too close to the doctor’s appointment time, she had to wear a white blouse and enter the delivery room.

After giving birth, Ms. Ngan was fortunate to have an abundant source of breast milk. Seeing this, other pregnant women asked for her milk.

Currently, in addition to her biological child, Ms. Ngan also raises 3 other babies with her milk. Even though she is busy at work, she always takes time to pump milk for her children.

“Normally, I only need to drink 2 liters of water, but to have enough milk for 4 children, I have to drink 5 liters of water every day.

I had just given birth, had heavy work pressure, and at times my health was exhausted. But thinking about my children lacking milk, my heart aches and I can’t bear it,” Dr. Ngan was moved.

I felt sorry for my daughter-in-law, but my mother-in-law did not stop her from giving milk. She silently roasted soybeans and green beans for her to drink to help her milk production.

Not only that, she also helped her daughter-in-law feel secure and not worry too much about the family’s finances by offering a reward.

“My mother-in-law promised that if I give birth, I will receive a bonus of 2 billion VND for each child. When I gave birth to my first daughter, my mother-in-law gave me a house and a red book. For the second child, her mother-in-law rewarded her with a convertible supercar,” Ms. Ngan said.

At the end of the program, the surprise appearance of her mother-in-law made Ms. Ngan emotional. She shed tears, leaned her head on her mother-in-law’s shoulder, thanking her for loving her daughter-in-law like a daughter.
