Mr. Manit, 49 years old, lives in Roi Et province (Northeastern Thailand), won the lottery worth 6 million baht (more than 4.1 billion) on November 1. The lucky man then transferred the entire amount (after taxes) to the bank account of his wife, 45-year-old Angkanarat.

The two plan to donate part of the prize money to a temple. During the donation ceremony, Manit discovered his wife led to an unknown man, introduced as a relative.

A few days later, Angkanarat and the man fled, taking with them all the winnings, leaving Manit in shock, falling into a “pocketless” scene.

Manit reported it to the police but the local authorities said they could not help because he and Angkanarat were not officially married despite having lived together for 26 years and had three children.

The poor man said he did not notice any change in the couple’s relationship, until Angkanarat fled. However, Manit’s son revealed that he knew about his mother’s affair. He tried to contact his mother, but after the first call, Angkanarat’s phone was always off.

Police said they could not get the money back because it appeared that Manit had actively transferred the money to his wife. The only way is for him to try to convince her to return the money.

Eventually, Manit reached out to the Thai media to try to contact his wife.
