The Thai royal family on January 8 announced that Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavati was still in a coma in hospital due to an infection.

The royal doctors continued to use equipment to support her heart, lung and kidney function as well as prescribe antibiotics for her.

They diagnosed, Princess Bajrakitiyabha suffered from severe arrhythmia after mycoplasma infection.

Princess Bajrakitiyabha, the eldest daughter of Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn, is a senior member of the royal family. The 44-year-old princess is one of three children with an official title, eligible for the throne under the royal inheritance law and the Thai constitution.

Ms. Bajrakitiyabha graduated from law school and holds a master’s and doctorate degree from Cornell University (USA). She served as Thailand’s Ambassador to Austria, Slovenia and Slovakia.

She passed out on December 14, 2022 during a dog training session in Nakhon Ratchasima province. She was treated at a local hospital before being transported by helicopter to a hospital in Bangkok.

Princess Bajrakitiyabha’s health has received great attention from Thai officials and people. Many activities to pray for her speedy recovery took place. Several New Year events in Thailand have been canceled or scaled down.
