Guardian reported that Mr. Kadyrov posted a video of him working out at the gym in a move that seemed to refute rumors that he was in poor health.

Before, Novaya Gazeta European independent site specializing in news about Russia, said on April 22 that Mr. Kadyrov appeared to be diagnosed with a serious pancreatic disease.

A European-based news site said Mr. Kadyrov’s health situation had recently “deteriorated” and the Kremlin was said to be looking for a replacement to ensure stability for the Chechen Republic.

After that, Mr. Kadyrov posted a video showing him performing heavy exercises such as lifting weights and wrestling.

“A busy day ends with exercise and positivity. Remember that healthcare is an investment in your future,” he wrote.

In recent times, Mr. Kadyrov has been repeatedly entangled in rumors about his poor health, but these information have no clear basis. Chechen leaders continue to work in governing the autonomous republic of Russia.

The Republic of Chechnya is a predominantly Muslim region. Although still part of the Russian Federation, the Chechen Republic has been granted many autonomy rights by Moscow.

Mr. Kadyrov, 47 years old, is one of the strong supporters of Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine. Since then, Mr. Kadyrov has received a number of sanctions from the West.

In October 2022, Editor-in-Chief of the Russian Book of Records Stanislav Konenko announced on October 5 that Chechen leader Kadyrov was recorded as the person with the most sanctions in the world.

In addition, Mr. Kadyrov also set a record for “the world’s highest number of sanctions applied to one person, relatives and partners”.

The head of Chechnya, at the time, said he was proud to be the record holder. He said that the sanctions against him show that he is protecting Islam, customs, traditions and security of Russia.
