Seven people were sentenced to prison, while three people received the death penalty and were executed for murder and smuggling weapons and ammunition stolen from MNDAA to sell abroad. MNDAA said the trial is an important deterrent to warn people not to commit crimes.

In January, about 2,000 Myanmar military government soldiers agreed to surrender to MNDAA and withdraw from Laukkai town. In recent months, this town has been a hot spot for online fraud, luring or tricking victims into establishments specializing in online fraud, forcing them to continue defrauding others.

China has repeatedly asked the Myanmar military government to crack down on online fraud, when many Chinese citizens became victims. MNDAA announced that this group will eliminate all fraudulent activity centers.
