Russia says 3,100 foreign mercenaries fight for Ukraine

“There are more than 3,100 foreign mercenaries participating in combat operations in Ukraine and the majority of them come from the US, Canada, UK and Georgia.”the Russian Investigative Committee said on April 25.

Many measures are being taken to determine the whereabouts of foreign mercenaries. These people are forced to bear criminal responsibility.

Previously, the Russian Ministry of Defense revealed that at least 13,387 foreign mercenaries came to Ukraine and fought with the Kiev army during more than 2 years of the special military campaign. Of these, about 5,962 gunmen were killed.

Poland is one of the countries that strongly supports Kiev. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Poland provided nearly 3,000 mercenaries to Ukraine, half of whom were killed.

Meanwhile, the US provides more than 1,100 mercenaries. Up to now, at least 491 gunmen have been killed.

Although maintaining a neutral stance on the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine and repeatedly refusing Kiev’s calls, Georgia sent 1,042 mercenaries to support Russia’s enemies.

Mercenary forces in Ukraine also come from Britain, Romania, Croatia and France. Although France declared its support for Ukraine, only about 356 of its citizens fought alongside Kiev. In January, France denied Russia’s accusations that there were French mercenaries in Ukraine. At that time, the Russian Ministry of Defense said the country’s army had destroyed many “foreign fighters”.

The Russia-Ukraine conflict has entered its third year, causing great losses to all parties involved. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu estimates that Ukraine has lost nearly half a million soldiers since Moscow began its special military operation in early 2022.

According to Sergei Shoigu, Ukraine failed to achieve its goals in the counterattack supported by NATO members: “Our forces have broken the superiority of Western weapons.”

In the coming time, the Russian army plans to carry out many attacks on Ukraine’s logistics centers and weapons storage facilities.
