According to Asia Times, NATO is starting to deploy combat troops to Ukraine. Soldiers from Poland, France, Britain, Finland and other NATO members are arriving in Ukraine in larger numbers.

Although Russia says there are more than 3,100 mercenaries in Ukraine, these newly arrived troops are not mercenaries. They wear uniforms, their country written on their badges. They are mainly concentrated in western Ukraine, although in some cases they are close to the actual fighting zone in the east.

NATO announced that these were not combat soldiers, but that they appeared in Ukraine to operate complex Western equipment. But if they opened fire on Russian forces, the only reasonable explanation for their presence is that they are playing an active role in the war in Ukraine.

US Department of Defense spokesman Patrick Ryder said on April 26 that any additional US military advisers, if sent to Ukraine, would not be deployed near the front lines.

“They only play an advisory role. They are very small in number. The United States has no intention of conducting combat operations inside Ukraine, nor will these forces be present anywhere near front line,” the spokesperson stated.

US President Joe Biden’s administration announced that it opposes sending NATO troops to Ukraine. However, Mr. Biden may be waiting for re-election before ordering American soldiers to fight in Ukraine. The recent passage of a $60 billion aid bill for Ukraine is a signal that the US Congress will follow whatever the Biden administration wants to do to “counter Russia”.

The US National Security Agency is concerned about Russia winning the conflict in Ukraine. This will lead to a major setback in America’s security strategy and will be a blow, even “fatal”, to NATO.

The Russian army is now 15% larger than before the Ukraine conflict broke out. Russia also has more experience and Moscow has found ways to deal with high-tech American systems, such as jamming systems.

Meanwhile, according to Asia Times, NATO is said to still be “inferior” to Russia in terms of weapons, human resources and industrial power. Furthermore, NATO’s weapons stockpiles are also low and defense equipment has been sent to Ukraine, leaving NATO defense forces short.

A consensus view among the US national security establishment is that Ukraine is losing the war with Russia and is likely facing military collapse.

According to some reports, several brigades in the Ukrainian armed forces allegedly refused orders from their commanders. These are leading military brigades, not territorial defense units.

Russia knows what is going on and is targeting foreign forces while also attacking Ukrainian combat units, causing heavy casualties. Russia says Ukraine has lost nearly 500,000 troops in the war and the number killed in fighting is growing every day.

Ukraine is trying to find new recruits and is receiving help from countries where Ukrainian refugees of military age are hiding. Lithuania is planning to bring home Ukrainian men of military age. Poland also has this plan.

A report on the training of Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16 fighter jets was also revealed. According to some Western officers cooperating with Ukraine, the process of training Ukrainian pilots to fly the F-16 has not been successful after a year of implementation. Language barriers and pilots’ unfamiliarity with Western combat systems and tactics slowed the training process.

To avoid an unfavorable scenario, NATO’s plan seems to be to fill the gaps in Ukrainian forces by sending military “advisors” to Ukraine, waiting for the US to send soldiers to fight after the election in September. 11. Russia knows this and is racing to try to defeat the Ukrainian military before President Biden returns to power.

If Russia succeeds, a larger-scale war in Europe will be avoided. Otherwise, with the participation of American forces, Europe is at risk of falling into World War III, according to Asia Times.
