Mr. Huynh Hoang Huy (29 years old), Mrs. Dao’s son, drives a motorbike similar to his mother, often driving behind to observe, support and remind his mother about Difficult road sections or adjust speed accordingly.

“I spent time practicing with my mother before the trip. She was used to riding scooters, so at first she was confused with the 110cc motorbike, but then the more she rode, the more confident she became. I chose a light weight motorbike for her. Control is more flexible, the handlebars are raised high and wide so mothers can have a comfortable steering angle, without having to lean forward too much,” said Mr. Huy.

“In 2021, my mother had a motorbike accident when someone else hit her. After 2 surgeries, her health seriously declined. The affected collarbone had to be fixed with internal screws. Finally, after a few days of research, my mother bought 10kg of mulberries and 3kg of strawberries at a “bargain price” and sent the car to the garage to take to Ho Chi Minh City. When I got home, my mother enjoyed preparing and soaking rock sugar to drink to cool down on summer days,” Mr. Huy said.

Mr. Huy predicted that crossing the slope would lead to the main road, but he did not expect that the end of the slope would be a dead end, with only stairs for pedestrians. When running back down, Ms. Dao had an accident and slipped, but luckily she braked in time and was not injured.

Mr. Huy confided that from a young age, Mrs. Dao worked hard and raised her son alone. For many years, she did not dare to go anywhere, just worried about making money to feed her children, buy their own house so that their mother and children could escape the situation of renting here and there.

I said I wanted to go to the beach. So my mother drove an old motorbike and took me along with a friend. My sister went to Vung Tau,” Mr. Huy emotionally recalled. “Now that I have the conditions, I want my mother to have memorable trips,” he added.
