Investigation into the death of two men in Long An with unknown causes

On the morning of April 24, the families of two men who died in Long An province organized funeral arrangements for these two people according to local customs.

Previously, on the afternoon of April 23, authorities in Long An province performed an autopsy on a man found dead in a canal in Nhi Thanh commune, Thu Thua district.

Mr. T.’s body was discovered lying in the canal

According to initial information, at noon on the same day, Mr. Pham Van T. (54 years old; residing in Nhi Thanh commune) rode a motorbike and carried a bag to cut grass in a nearby field. Afterwards, people passing by the canal saw Mr. T.’s motorbike and two bags of grass lying in the canal.

Looking closely under the muddy water, he saw Mr. T. being crushed by a motorbike and a bag of grass. People quickly pulled the cart and bags of grass up to save people, but Mr. T. died while his whole body was covered in black mud.

The incident and cause of death are currently being investigated by authorities.

At about 4:00 p.m. on the same day, a group of people went fishing on Vam Co Tay river, passing through My Phu commune, Thu Thua district (about 60m from Rach Chanh ship lock).

At this time, a person discovered an object floating on the water so he came closer to check. Accordingly, discovering that it was a body in the process of decomposition should be reported to the authorities.

The body was then brought ashore and determined to be a man. The victim had no clothes or identification documents on him.

Authorities have performed an autopsy and are determining the victim’s identity; At the same time, investigate to clarify the cause of this man’s death.
